Mary’s Hamburgers

August 6th, 2007 · 3 Comments

I travel a lot.  One of the joys of traveling is finding a good place to eat that doesn’t break the bank.  After having spent a week in Cincinnati I was ready for something different, so I asked the hotel clerk for a recommendation and definitely found something different at Mary’s Hamburgers.

Mary’s Hamburgers

Mary’s Hamburgers
in Cincinnatti serves
The Queen Mary
and Big Kahunas;
decidedly gay
and delicious.

    A Big Kahuna Burger? That burger is mentioned in “Pulp Fiction.” I wonder if they know it is real. Did you eat one? What was on it?

    I appreciate that you describe the situation in a way that honors their good work without passing judgment on the people themselves.

    I like “Cincinnatti serves.”
    And of course, the punchline: “decidedly gay/ and delicious.”

    It’s challenging and thought-provoking like good poetry should be.

    I don’t remember what I ate, but it was good. I felt welcome (though observed) and left smiling and satisfied.
