1st Poetry Reading

1st Poetry Reading is a small hint at the I joy I receive in grandparenting. This was not my first grandchild, nor my first poetry reading. It was my first poetry reading with a grandchild.

I remember that evening at Barnes and Noble. The thing I still love about this poem is the tight parallel structure–especially the paired definition of “poetry/ staged, created.”

    I’m still thinking about that.

    Mark:)

If not for wanting to honor my grand children I would not have put this one up. It kinda sounds like a Master Card commercial, though I don’t use “priceless.”. Thanks for the comment though… and the memory.

Yeah, nice ending. Staged/Created. I like finding out that the dry roast was at Barnes and Noble. Were you and Mark there together, waiting.

English and Spanish. Words spoken at the birth? Where does the Spanish come from?

Yes, we were there together, Mark, me and his first born. No mystery in the English/Spanish. The poet blended English and Spanish in her poems.
